Simbhu is happy with Poda Podi good reviews!

STR is a happy man. His Podaa Podi  is getting good reviews and is being appreciated by his core audiences, the youth. 

Says director Vignesh Shiva: “The main objective of Podaa Podi is to stick smile on your face right from the beginning which stays with you”.

Everybody especially ladies are loving the spectacular performance of STR and Varalakshmi. The unique blend of bitter-sweet moments and catchy dialogues has clicked with multiplex audiences. 

A major plus for the film are the foot-tapping songs and Duncan Telford’s cinematography has also come for a lot of critical acclaim.

Kajal Agarwal is playing the role of a Boxer!

Kajal Agarwal is said to be playing  the role of a Boxer Nisha in her upcoming release Thuppaki, in which she is paired opposite Vijay, under the direction of AR Murugadoss.

Kajal we hear took inspiration from the Olympic medal winner Mary Kom. About the preparation for the role, "As boxer Nisha, I am this strong willed, impulsive girl. I watched a lot of Mary Kom's matches. Initially I started watching her matches to just understand and learn her body language. Later I was totally gripped and I was following her bouts during the Olympics as well."

The role of Nisha was quite challenging for Kajal but she managed to pull it off. It helped her explore the athlete in her that she thought was non-existent!" Kajal's has been styled and designed by Komal Shahani for the film. A lot of references were taken by how Kom dressed up for her bouts.”

The film is gearing up for Diwali release, which is on the 13th November 2012.

Mani Ratnam’s Kadal shoot is complete!

Mani Ratnam has completed the shoot of his Kadal on Monday (Nov 5) in Chennai.

The buzz is that after Mani broke the traditional Poosinika (Pumpkin) a ritual in Kollywood after completion of the shoot of the film and there was a wrap-up party for all unit members.

Thulasi Mani’s Kadal  heroine who is debuting with the film tweeted – “Wooohoo and that's a wrap people! The best time ever! Kadal  has come to end. I've never been so happy and sad! This was life changing!!”

Sources close to the unit say the entire shoot of the film is over except for a song which is being planned in Mani’s favourite location – Alapuzha in the backwaters of Kerala.

Meanwhile AR Rahman’s Nenjukulle from Kadal sung by Shakthisree Gopalan which was premiered on MTV unplugged has become a runaway chartbuster.

Tamanna and cricketer Virat Kohli for commerial ad!

Actress Tamanna Bhatia and cricketer Virat Kohli has joined hands for a Tv commerial of a popular mobile brand.

The two had recently shot for the ad in Mumbai, which was directed by Telugu director Trivikram Srinivas.

Tamanna’s father informs media, “Yes, Tamannaah is currently shooting with cricketer Virat Kohli in Mumbai. Right now, only the photo shoot is being done for the print ads. The television commercial will be shot later this month. She is thrilled to be working with a cricketer for the first time, especially because Virat Kohli, who is one of the best cricketers around and is a youth icon.”

We hear that the brand wanted to cash in on the popularity of the two, as they are currently the youth heartthrobs.
