Dhanush misses Yatra’s first day at school!

What is Dhanush doing these days? He is shooting in the dust and heat of Madurai for Vetrimaran’s Aadukalam. When asked about the recent controversy about Trisha being replaced in the film, the actor refused to comment . Dhanush, the doting father that he is, was very upset that he couldn’t be with his dear son Yatra on his first day at school. Remember that the Ash-Dhanush couple always avoids media glare and photographers, when it comes to their son. Says Dhanush: “I can’t believe that my son has started going to school. I always wonder why kids are send to school from such a young age. It was not too long ago that I remember my first day at school. However now my son has started enjoying the experience and has made a few friends in his kindergarten school”. The buzz from the unit says that Dhanush was tense as he was seen giving instructions over the phone, remote controlling everything from Madurai, on Yatra’s first day at school. Adds Dhanush: “I really missed being with him on that day. These are the small but very precious moments that one misses being an actor”.

Suriya, Shriya discover the 'joy of giving'

From September 27 to October 3, India will celebrate 'The Joy of Giving Week'. A press meet was held in Chennai to announce the news and it was attended by eminent personalities like Dr Pratap Reddy, N Vaghul, Lemuel Herbert, Suriya (the actor is the goodwill ambassador of the Tanker Foundation), Mahadevan of Oriental Cuisines, Vandana Gopikumar of Banyan and actress Shriya.

Conceptualised by GiveIndia, this unique and ambitious initiative aims to get people from all walks of life to engage in acts of giving - money, time, skills or simple acts of kindness.

Suriya pledged to support the initiative by not only giving 10 per cent of his salary to his Agaram Foundation, but also devoting a day every month for charity work.
Shriya appealed to everyone to come forward and take part in the 'The Joy of Giving Week'.

Gautham eases pace: bearded Silambarasan uneasy

Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya, which started with a bang and was reportedly going on at a great pace, has seen a sudden slackening in proceedings. The reason reportedly is that director Gautham Menon doesn’t seem too keen on getting on with it at the same pace as the initial stages.

Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya is not being made in Tamil alone, it is also being reportedly planned in Telugu with Mahesh Babu in the lead. However, Mahesh Babu’s dates are not available for at least a couple of months and there is no way that the Telugu version can begin until his dates are confirmed.

With the same story, Gautham wants the two films to be completed and released simultaneously. He seems to think that any one of them releasing earlier would affect the chances of the latter, especially if the box office results were not favorable. Added to this is the fact that he also plans to use Rahman’s tunes for the Telugu version too. With the kind of reach that Rahman’s music has, any one album releasing ahead of the other will rob all the novelty off the one following it. So, weighing his options, Gautham seems to have decided that Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya need not sprint to completion as earlier planned.

This seems fine with everyone except Silambarasan. He has acted in two get ups in VTV, one of which has a full grown beard. With film’s shooting not moving as expected, he has been left with his beard in place, unable to take part in any other shooting.

Lakshmi Rai Fly to Mumbai To Console Dhoni

Tamil actress Lakshmi Rai, who has been romantically linked with M.S. Dhoni, rubbishes reports that she flew down to Mumbai from here to console the Indian cricket skipper after the Indian team was ousted from the T20 World Cup.

A Tamil daily had published the report.

"Though I was deeply upset by India's exit from the T20 World Cup, I didn't break down into tears as reported. Neither did I fly to Mumbai to meet Dhoni to talk to him and console him... it's nothing but media's figment of imagination. I just sent a consoling message to Dhoni and that's all," said the actress.

"Actually, I'm too busy to have time for such things. Nowadays, I make it a point to even take part in the story discussion of films in which I'm working. So, this keeps me very busy," added the actress who featured in Tamil films like "Azhagiya Aabathu" and "Velli Thirai".
