According to Amitabh, Raavan’s editing was the main cause for showing Abhi’s character Beera as a confused man. The Big B tweeted, “It’s sad; in the edit you only see the after effect of that thinking process, hence inconsistent. In the edit all the visual heads got cut and you see a confused Veera expression and wonder why?”

Vikram, in his answer to Amitabh, has said that editing is the director’s prerogative and he cannot comment on Amitabh’s comment.

Lingusamy film is a bi-lingual in Tamil and Telugu. Buzz is that Tamanna has been asked to give 25 days successively for the film by Lingusamy. Tamanna plays a law college student and she has also been asked to lose some weight and get fit for the role. Tamannah also has an author backed role which has more emotions than dialogues they say. She will have just two pages of words to be spoken in the entire films and you will see a new Tamanna they add.

For the important role of Tamanna's brother in the film Lingusamy tried Madhavan and is still waiting for his answer. While waiting for Madhavan, Lingusamy also has a stand by in Ajmal, just in case.

And for any of Shankar’s movies, his audio launches are simple yet have that splendour but this time will be even better as the music is composed by A R Rahman. Not just that, the movie is branded as India’s costliest movie ever, so producers Sun Pictures would want to unleash the audio in the most magnificent way.

Namitha is a box office darling

Say what the critics may but the loyal fans of Namitha are lining up to watch her movie ‘Black Stallion, which despite a slew of bad movie reviews, is going strong at the box office down south.

namitha-hot-photos-gallery06-thumb

Namitha’s magic works again and the producers of ‘Black Stallion’ are galloping their way to the bank. Yes, reports from the South indicate that the trilingual movie (in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu) has managed to break-even and might even rake in a handsome profit.

The movie has Namitha playing a sexy bar dancer who is constantly being wooed by lusty men. Kalabhavan Mani, who plays the eponymous hero, tries to woo her but only gets stabbed by her. The film’s other hero, Bala, plays a photographer who promises to help Namitha reform her life.

One reason why the movie managed to break even could be that it was made on a shoe-string budget of Rs 2.85 crore in the first place. Secondly, the intensive publicity campaign that focused on Namitha’s glamour and sexiness seems to be paying the dividend.

Critics may have panned the film but the fans are loving it. And at the end of the day that’s what matters for Namitha and the film’s makers.

Samantha

Earlier it was said that Sameera Reddy was roped in to be the heroine of Ajith in this movie but the current buzz is that Samantha will be the heroine. Samantha was seen in Gautham’s telugu version of the movie Vinnai Thandi Varuvaaya.

Samantha was has acted in movies Ye Maaya Chesaave ( Telugu ), Moscowin Kaveri ( Tamil ), Brindavanam ( Telugu ), Baana Kaathadi ( Tamil ).

SNEHA, STILL NOT A MOM

There have been reports that Sneha has been signed up to play the mother of Ananya in the Mohanlal-starrer Shikar. Being her first Malayalam film with Mohanlal, the actress is upbeat about her role. However, there is one news that has been bothering Sneha which she chose to clarify.

 Sneha kollywood actress

According to the actress, she does not play Ananya’s mom in Shikar. As per the story, after her death in the film, Mohanlal would adopt a daughter – Ananya. Sneha also made it clear that she has no scenes with Ananya in the film and hence the news about her playing the mom’s role is absolutely false.

Problem for Raavanan

Mani Ratnam’s eagerly awaited Raavanan in Tamil will not be releasing in any multiplex screens in Bangalore! In Bangalore city the film will only be screened in seven single screens!

Vikram Raavanan

Reliance Big Pictures, who are marketing the film have been told by Karnataka Film Chamber (KFC), that they can treat Raavan and Raavanan as one film, and not two. Suhasini Mani Ratnam, one of the producers of the film had even provided proof that both the Hindi and Tamil versions are two negatives, but KFC remains adamant.

The KFC is very clear that only Kannada films can release in any number of screens and Other Language Films (OLF) can only release in a maximum of 24 screens. So in case of Raavan, Raavanan and Villain will have to be screened in 24 screens in the state. Since Bollywood is bigger in Karnataka, Raavan will release in 16 screens in Bangalore multiplexes (ticket prices are higher, so more revenue), while Raavanan will play in 7 single screens and Villain in one single screen.

It is bad news for Raavanan and Tamil fans of Mani Ratnam and Vikram, as the film cannot be screened at the multiplexes, which forms the bulk of their viewership.

Meanwhile the official count is that 550 screens worldwide will be screening the Tamil Raavanan, with nearly 300 of them in Tamil Nadu. The film just looking at the number of screens is sure to take a very big opening.
