Filmmakers undergo many hardships to show us unseen and unheard-of locations. When cameraman-turned-director K.V. Anand wanted to show some of the most unexplored and beautiful landscapes in Ayan, he opted for Skeleton Coast and Kaokolan in Namibia. Well, except for a few highly-active persons with wander lust and geography experts, that name would not ring any bells! And K.V. Anand chose the most unusual and unexplored areas of Skeleton Coast to film the song ’Nenje Nenje’!
With red hilly backdrops, white sand dunes, scarce vegetation, trees miraculously surviving without leaves and unimaginable rock formations, the place is something that cannot be envisaged even in one’s wildest fantasies. After spending nights in tents fighting the intense cold (4 degrees Celsius) of this plain, Suriya and Tamanna had to dance to the tunes of Harris Jayraj during the day, when temperatures would soar to 42 degrees Celsius! Imagine their predicament! But these determined artists and the crew pulled it off successfully.
While you admire Suriya and Tamanna with the scenic beauty of Africa in the backdrop, one photograph will surely grab your attention - one where Suriya is caught in the act of kicking a baddie. He is seen nonchalantly swinging from the roof of a balcony to deliver his kick; the stunt might have been done with the use of cables, but it looks absolutely good!
The crew also filmed a few stunt scenes in Zanzibar Islands and in the mainland of Tanzania.
