Trisha who has completed ’Abhiyum Naanum’ and working in the films Sarvam, directed by Vishnuvardhan and Goutham Menon’s ’Chennaiyil Oru Mazhaikalam’, says, ’I am doing movies of different genres now. Every film is different from the other. My characterization is quite plausible in all the movies.’

On ’Abhiyum Naanum’, she said, "It is a different film altogether. It speaks about the emotional bondage shared between a father and his daughter. I have done several films with Prakashraj and we share a good rapport on screen. Radha Mohan has rendered an engrossing tale, which is far away from commercial cinema."

’Sarvam’ is a movie to reckon with. A team of talented technicians led by Vishnuvardhan are working round-the-clock for the movie. ’Chennaiyil Oru Maazhaikalam’ is fast nearing completion. A few more portions have to be shot. Working with Goutham is a great learning experience’.

However the actress is tight-lipped when queried about ’Marma Yogi’. ’It is all but Kamal Haasan in the film. It is not appropriate for me to talk about it now’.

It’s said Asin is soon to break that record. AVM is producing Vijay’s 49th film ’Vettaikaaran.’ Dharani’s assistant Babu Sivan is directing the film. Vijay is determined to have Asin co-star with him in the film. Busy in Bollywood films at the moment, Asin is also keen on acting in ’Vettaikaaran.’

Asin is busy right now in London , shooting for ’London Dreams.’ On returning to Chennai, she will hear the story from Babu Sivan.

Gautham Vasudev Menon regarding the title once stated that they did not deliberately attempt to name the movie with a Tamil title. The title, which is a phrase from Andal’s ‘Thiruppavai’, was found to be synonymous with the storyline of the movie and thereby it was picked. ‘Varanam Aayiram’ literally means the strength of thousand elephants.

The film has seven songs composed by Harris Jayaraj. The songs from the albums were released to four leading FM stations in Chennai, with one song per station, in attempt to popularize it five days before the official launch.

With the Suriya-Gautham duo coming back after the blockbuster Kaakha Kaakha(2003), and with Harris Jayaraj’s music, Suriya appearing in different get ups with three glamorous ladies, ’Varanam Aayiram’ is much worth waiting till this november and it would sure become the hottest film in Kollywood trade circuit.

Sources close to Mani Ratnam, said, "We would try to convince the forest officials and seek their approval to continue shooting from Tuesday. In case, the forest department denies permission to continue shooting, the alternative choice would be to shoot in the jungles of Sri Lanka."

The forest officials found that the director had constructed temporary thatched huts in prohibited areas inside the forest. After the forest department found the violation, they ordered the shooting to be stopped.

The film unit claims that they had put up temporary huts to protect their costly equipments from the incessant rains in the area. The Tamil version features Vikram, Prithviraj and Priyamani among others.
