Udayanidhi Stalin has joined the ranks of successful producers. The film ’Kurivi’ produced by him for Red Giant Films has crossed 150 days. The celebratory function was held at the Park Sheraton Hotel in Chennai. Though coming from a prominent family, Udayanidhi had organized a simple function. He made the function more meaningful by donating lakhs of rupees to destitute and physically challenged people. Partaicipating in the function director Balachander and producers’ association president Rama Narayanan gave away the mementos to artists and technicians.Arriving late to attend the function Trisha sat at the dais after announcing ’I am late because I am coming from Hyderabad and I am sorry for that’.
Both Vijay and Trisha never even acknowledged each other sitting side by side for more than one hour. This was taken a serious note by the media.While Vijay and Trisha were behaving like strangers, Balachander spoke ’I could see this film only with the held of a pirate VCD. I was also scared as I wondered about the consequences. I believe it would be better to release DVDs three months after release of the films instead of chasing pirates’.The audible murmur among the distributors present in the function was ’how can he talk like this without understanding the status of distributors who pay money to acquire the rights’.
