For Nayantara to pair with Karthi in a Lingusamy film, the fee negotiated was about 1 crore 10 lakhs. It is said this is the first instance an actress has commanded such a fee for a Tamil film.
It’s said Asin is soon to break that record. AVM is producing Vijay’s 49th film ’Vettaikaaran.’ Dharani’s assistant Babu Sivan is directing the film. Vijay is determined to have Asin co-star with him in the film. Busy in Bollywood films at the moment, Asin is also keen on acting in ’Vettaikaaran.’
Asin is busy right now in London , shooting for ’London Dreams.’ On returning to Chennai, she will hear the story from Babu Sivan.
Vijay’s current film ’Villu’ is slated for a Pongal release. They plan to start shooting for ’Vettaikaaran’ before ’Villu’ gets released. That’s because Asin has given call sheet for a Hindi film from February. Reliable sources say the fee negotiated for Asin’s role in ’Vettaikaaran’ is 2 crores. If that is true, Nayantara will be eclipsed in the list of top earning actresses.
