Why is Ileana, the hot and happening Goan girl rocking Tollywood refusing to sign up with any Tamil superstar? Does she have an aversion to Tamil cinema after doing KD with Ravi Krishna, a few years back?
She had a string of hits in Telugu at regular intervals, ever since Mahesh Babu’s Pokkiri sky rocketed her to superstardom. Now when M.Raja approached her for the remake of her own Telugu film Kick to Tamil with Jayam Ravi, she flatly refused.
Remember that she had refused to be Ilayathalapathy, Vijay’s heroine in the Pokkiri remake and recently Vettaikaran. Director Saran who tried to rope her for Asal with Ajith, had to replace her with Sameera Reddy at the last moment.
Her most talked about ‘NO’ to Tamil cinema was when she refused to lend her face to the animated Sultan-The Warrior with none other than superstar Rajinikanth!
However a little bird has informed us that last week she patiently heard the script of director Vikram Kumar’s (Yaavarum Nalam fame) new film with Tamil superstar Vikram as the hero.
If all goes well, it would be a casting coup of sorts for Vikram if he manages to convince Ileana to be his heroine in his new film in a role “with a dash of glamour, innocence and vulnerability.”
Meanwhile Simbu too is planning to meet her in Hyderabad later this month, as he is on the look out for a big heroine for his Valiban!
Let us hope Ileana breaks her taboo on Tamil films and does a movie in Kollywood in the near future, as there is an acute shortage of saleable heroines in Chennai.
