The five-month pregnant Malavika was humiliated on the sets of Karthikai in a Hyderabad studio by its producer M.Anjaneya.When she refused to do a song which involved a lot of body movements, the producer barged into her caravan and started to do a body search on her to find out whether she is pregnant!Malavika refusing to do heavy dance movements for a song in Karthigai film.Earlier Namitha has replaced Malavika in this project and accepted the role for a whopping Rs.75 lakhs ,but later it was speculated that Namitha would play the role of Indrani, but she flatly refuted the claim. Now, it is learnt that Amoha none other than Nisha Kothari, who made a mark with JJ, is among those being approached to do the role of a shrew.
Though the movie earned her a good name, the actress did not look back at Kollywood as she went about expanding her career in Hindi films, with Sarkar and Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag being most notable.
So will Karthikai bring back Nisha Kothari to Kollywood, is what remains to be seen, as discussions are still on with the heroine. It is also learnt that others in the fray for Malavika’s role are Sneha, Charmy and Sada.

The movie has Vikramadithya in the leadm and Samiksha opposite him. It is produced by Anjaneyulu and directed by Veera.
The movie is slated for an August release. Malavika had completed 75 percent of her role before she walked out of the movie in late June. It is now rumoured that over 40 percent of the film will have to be re-shot now that another heroine is being roped in for Malavika’s role. The replacement for Malavik’as role will be finalised only after the weekend,when Sneha will also return from New Jersey ,where she’s been shooting for Achamundu Achamundu.
